Singapore School Kelapa Gading (SIS-KG), is a private, government-registered school which offers an international style of education for both Indonesian and foreign students. All students engage the international style program, while Indonesian students also sit for Indonesian national examinations.

Inspired by the success of the Singaporean education system, which achieves some of the best results in the world in international tests, Singapore International Schools were pioneered in Indonesia to bring world class education to students who aspired to one day study or work overseas.

CURRICULUM

  • The curriculum is structured around the following programs and also incorporates all the requirements of the Indonesian national curriculum.
  • Preschool: Based on the Singaporean preschool program and standards.
  • Primary: English math and science based on the Cambridge Primary Program. Most other subjects are based on Singaporean curriculum.
  • Secondary: Academic subjects based on Cambridge Secondary Programs.
  • Junior College: The IB Diploma Program or the IB Courses Program.

  • All students are expected to engage with one of a very varied range of Co-curricular activities offered at the end of at least one school day per week.
  • Project-based learning (IDP) takes place in a block of time twice per year and is assessed as a subject on semester reports.

LANGUAGE

  • The language of instruction and operation (except language classes) is English (80% of teachers are expatriates).
  • Either native or foreign-language study of Indonesian is also required of all students.
  • A choice of either Chinese or Hindi as foreign languages is required for all students from P1 to Secondary 4 and Chinese is also taught in every Preschool class.

PERFORMANCE

Our school is well known for academic excellence, with some students achieving multiple A*s in Cambridge iGCSE exams every year. In 2013, every student who sat for the International Certificate of Education (requiring 7 iGCSE courses) achieved a Credit or Distinction. However we are also a great sporting school, with our school winning the annual SIS Olympics against the other 7 SIS schools in Indonesia for the last 5 years and with our SIS-KG and SIS United Soccer teams doing well in the Greenfields Cup (Coca Cola League). Every student should have the opportunity to achieve their full potential!

HEART

Our motto is "Towards Greater Heights" and this does not just apply to academics and sporting achievements. It also applies to the creation of a rich and well-rounded learning environment in which students are inspired to become life-long learners who aspire to make a difference in the world through community service, technology or visual and performing arts.

Our core values are INNOVATION, COLLABORATION, INTEGRITY and PERSEVERANCE. This reflects how we manage the school, how the teacher's teach and how the student's learn.

In a powerful sequence of programs which is founded on Singaporean excellence, the breadth of Cambridge International Examinations and the intellectual challenge of the IB Diploma Program, we help prepare students to meet the real challenges of the 21st Century and have a great time doing it!
